Jobs and Opps at The Evening Standard, BBC Scotland, Bumble, the i, and Many, Many More 😶🌫️
This is just a big ol' list of opportunities to apply for.
I wrote in last week’s newsletter about coming back from holiday to an ‘empty office’. I remain, a week later in an empty office, and it feels like I somewhat jumped the gun with a July holiday. Almost every email I send seems to result in an instantaneous bounceback about an exciting adventure somewhere, and combing through job websites this afternoon feels a bit like being stuck in a swamp. The jobs are out there, but the good ones are slightly harder to find. Presumably, because the people hiring are also off on their holidays.
I joke, but our stats do show we both list fewer jobs in August and fewer people click through on the ones we have. So, no, you’re not imagining it, things really are just a bit slow and sludgy right now. For those of us who aren’t headed off into the sunshine over the next few weeks, this is your reminder to also take it easy. Prioritise and just do what you need to — there’s ample time across the month to make sure it all gets done. Take time out to find joy in the adventures near your own home, or even the self-care you’d like to do in your own home. And — once you’ve read the newsletter — shut the laptop and go outside. Especially when it’s grey and drizzly outside.
