Yes, I know, it’s not a Tuesday. It’s currently 11.41am on a Saturday and I’m very much not dressed yet. I’m writing this to you from my bed as the temperature slowly creeps up again outside. Currently, it’s 21 degrees.
We only send one email a year outside of our usual jobs and opportunities round-up — this year it’s this one! I’m writing because we’ve just put together our annual Journo Resources Survey and I’d be incredibly grateful if you filled it out. It’s entirely anonymous, but if you do fill it out you can enter a draw for free lifetime membership, including all our events, Discord, transcription app, and more.
The survey is really important to us to try and work out how to best help our readers and users over the next 12 months. We try to find out who we are reaching — and who we aren’t — so we can do better at outreach and finding the people who need us. We also ask what you find useful and what you don’t — our DBACE grant last year came with a small pot of money for web development, and we want to make sure we’re using it on the right stuff. So come at us with your wildest ideas!
As everyone says when they’re sending out a survey — this isn’t a long one. We’ve tried our best to keep it snappy and the majority of the questions are multiple-choice. Nothing is mandatory to answer either, so you can only answer what you feel comfortable with. If you can fill out the survey, we’d really appreciate it. Our mentor has told us to aim for 100–500 submissions, so we can actually draw some meaningful thoughts from them. I’ve no idea if this is possible, but I’d love your help to try!
Thank you so much once again — we’ll see you next Tuesday for the regular jobs and opportunities. And no more surprise emails until June 2024, we promise.
