Jobs & Opps at openDemocracy, The Economist, The FT, VICE UK and More š
We're back for 2021, and still have just as many jobs as before. š
Yesterday was my first āofficialā day back at work in 2021. Itās fair to say, that with Slack down, a new lockdown, and a fair smattering of freezing rain, it wasnāt exactly the roaring start to the year Iād hoped for, especially since Iād already stuck my nail in the ground for Dry January.
I was going to spend this newsletter laying out Journo Resourcesā plans for the next couple of months, but what with, well, everything it didnāt feel like quite the right time. Iāve also spent a lot of time thinking about personal goals for this year and getting absolutely nowhere. If Iām feeling it, there must be other people feeling similarly out there too.
Iāve since come to the conclusion, as I sit here still in bed at midday, that right now isnāt necessarily the best time to kick off with ambitious resolutions. I always think itās important to know where you want to go, but letās face it ā time are weird right now, and none of us need to beat ourselves up about missed pitches or a run we didnāt actually make it out too. In short, be kind to yourself, if youāre not quite capable of pulling together a good newsletter opener. And have the damn hot chocolate.
