Jobs and Opps at openDemocracy, BBC Science Focus, FITV, PinkNews, and Many, Many More 🎄
With added festive cheer 🎊
I don’t know about you, but in the last couple of weeks, I’ve gone all in on Christmas. My tree is up and adorned with more lights than most shopping centre grottos, I’ve got a full range of festive jumpers to see me through the entire working week, and I’ve already watched the Muppert Christmas Carol, including the full deleted scene. Maybe I’m projecting, but I’ve felt a collective energy for the festive season this year. It’s cold, it’s dark, and we’re all just shattered. We need a festive lie-down and some mulled wine, thank you very much.
So, it was quite the tonic to hold our second-ever Christmas party yesterday. As a remote team, we’re spread pretty wide (from Liverpool to Somerset, in fact). And, despite the fact we talk every day, there are some of us who’ve never met in person. So, we remedied that with an afternoon of watching films at The Cinema Museum and retreating to a cosy pub for food and drinks. I’d highly recommend all three.
When you don’t get to see people often — and indeed, when it’s only the second time you’ve managed to hold a Christmas party — coming together feels pretty special. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such kick-ass people who all share a vision for a better media. They’re all such talented and wonderful people, and Journo Resources really wouldn’t be possible without them. Nothing we do here would be possible alone. So, really, this newsletter is just a huge thank you to our tiny but incredible team, past and present. No, seriously, they rock — and I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings for us.
PS. If you’re looking for more festive cheer you can buy our magazine here. We’re just 20 copies away from hitting 100 sales, which would make our week. You can also check out our very festive Christmas gift guide over here too.
