Jobs and Opps at Metro.co.uk, BBC Radio, Earth Journalism Network And More 🎰
Everything that should be on your 'to apply' list this week ✨
This weekend, I spent my weekend at the Student Publication Association National Conference, otherwise known as #SPANC21. I wish I could lay claim to coming up with such a great initialism, but it was actually just tweeted accidentally by a student back in 2013 and stuck.
I’ve been a trustee of the charity for the last few years, and the conference and awards are always one of the highlights of my year. Even in our virtual-only reincarnation, I find it so energising to just spend time talking to the amazing young people doing great things at publications across the UK.
It’s a seemingly eternal narrative that journalism’s in a bad place. That there are no jobs. That the internet is killing “how things should be”. But the people constantly pushing these doom laden narratives very rarely spend time with the talent we should be welcoming in.
There’s no doubt that journalism has its fair share of issues – indeed, I’ve written about a lot of them in this very part of the newsletter. But, if you’re ever feeling a bit low and in need of a dose of optimism, I’d heavily recommend taking a lot at the people coming up next.
[EVENT]: How To Start And Grow Your Own Newsletter 💌

Can You Help Us Create Even More Resources? ❤️
We’re a tiny team, and no one at Journo Resources works full-time. But we’re really proud of how much we’re able to put together on a shoestring – and that it’s free for everyone to use. Every donation of £3.50 a month really does make a huge difference to what we’re able to do.
