Jobs and Opps at ITV, The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, The Lead, Sifted.eu, and Many, Many More 🎄
It's our last newsletter of the year — and our mag cover is here! 🎨
I can’t quite believe I’m writing it — but this will be our final newsletter of 2023. On Thursday, we’re shutting up our virtual offices and heading off into the tinsel to rest up. Usually, I’d wrap up with a reassurance that we’re short on jobs because it’s just that time of year. But, flying in the face of tradition, we’ve spent the whole morning uploading new gigs as people are still spitting them out. As our wonderful sales assistant Bex commented earlier, it’s a welcome boost of Christmassy job cheer.
So, if you are looking ahead to a New Year, New Job™ then dive in — there’s plenty to be found both in this newsletter and on our jobs board. But, if you can, we’d also encourage you to take a breather for at least some of the next two weeks. Remember: adverts can’t close when the hiring team are also on their holidays. And, the fact is, you’ll probably put together a better application if you’re well-rested and fuelled up on a festive selection box of your choice. I’ve bought this ridiculous offering.
Before we go, I also wanted to sneak in the first peek of our 2024 magazine cover. It only came in yesterday, so we’re still tweaking it — but isn’t it gorgeous?! Our cover story, from our fellow Rachel Brooks, is all about the physical spaces we inhabit as journalists, and how that’s different for all of us. We can’t wait to share it with you in January — please do grab a copy if you can. I have a (perhaps unrealistic) hope we can hit 150 sales before Christmas Eve, which means I can stop worrying about it. That means selling another 30 in total — every sale makes a difference.
Finally, all that remains to be said is thank you so much for your support this year. Journo Resources truly is a collaboration that’s made possible by our community. We couldn’t do it without you. We’ll see you again in January 2024 and hope you have a happy, restful, and twinkling festive season.
Jem, Kayleigh, Hannah, April, Jack, Karen, Bex, and Swirls 🐾
