Jobs and Opps at gal-dem, Sifted.eu, Journo Resources, Euronews and More 🌻
Everything you should apply for this week and beyond.
Last week, I wrote about our accounts and my hopes for the future of Journo Resources. This week I wanted to talk about a leap of faith we’re taking. Since August last year, Journo Resources has been my full-time job, and I’ve trying to pay myself somewhere between £28-30,000pa depending on how it’s been going. It’s been a real privilege to spend my working week solely dedicated to Journo Resources, and if you told me a year ago, I don’t think I’d have believed that it could happen.
However, while I’m incredibly proud of everything I’ve done in the last six months, I’ve realised I can no longer do this on my own. My edit pile, which shamefully hasn’t been touched in weeks, now towers at more than 25 pieces. My Instagram and TikTok updates are sporadic at best, My inbox is filled with emails I need to reply to but haven’t got around to, dating back months. If this is you, I’m really sorry!
So, we’re taking a risk. Thanks to the support of some amazing sponsors (namely the Financial Times, News Associates and ResponseSource) we’ve managed to put back enough for a deputy editor, for six months. This will be a three-day-a-week role, working across editing, commissioning, social, and our finances, and can be based anywhere in the UK. We’ll be doing our very best to make sure it’s a permanent gig that sticks around long after that though.
So, thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. And, to any of you who have a passion for original reporting, switching up the media industry, and are happy to muck in on all aspects of of a small social enterprise, we’d love to hear from you 💚
