Jobs and Opps at BBC Children In Need, The Sun, Music Business Worldwide, The Stage And Many More 🌱
Your next opportunity could be in this list...
This time next week Journo Resources turns six. Well, I always say it’s this time next week, but in truth it’s a little more fluid than that. Frustration at the state of this industry had been bubbling up inside me ever since I’d started trying “to make go of it” as a journalist.
Two years before I registered this domain name (the day I’ve since decided is our official birthday), I started volunteering for the Student Publication Association, attempting to bring our community together collectively. I think I’ve since spoken to almost every student paper in the country in one way or another. A year before, I started writing what would one day become this newsletter. It looked awful. I guess what I’m saying is that this is a project that has consumed a huge part of my life. It’s an odd thought.
As a team, we’ve spent a lot of time over the past few weeks talking about what Journo Resources means to us, and what we’d like it to be in the future. Truly, the fact we’ve made it to six years in is something I haven’t quite processed yet. But just as six years ago, Journo Resources has never just been about the team updating the website from our bedrooms and kitchen tables – its about the community that have joined us along the way.
As we gear up for our celebrations next week, we’d love to include you – we want to know how we’ve helped you over the past six years, the changes you’ve seen, and what you’d love to see more of in the future. And, of course, we’d love to know what we can do better. If you have five minutes spare to be part of our celebrations, please do drop Hannah a line on hannah@journoresources.org.uk. We’ve also got some free goodies for anyone who is able to help us out with a short interview!
