50+ Jobs and Opps at the Guardian Docs, the BBC, Black Ballad, #30ToWatch 🦋
Plus, meet our new senior staff writer 💜
Hi everyone, in a rare occurrence, this isn’t Jem writing - it’s actually Journo Resource’s newest (and first) staff writer - Faima. I’m joining JR as senior writer after three years on the lifestyle team at Metro.co.uk. I’ve been reading this newsletter for the past few years, watching out for all the job opportunities and applying to a bunch of them – plus the awards! So when Jem said she’s recruiting for a staff writer, I knew I had to throw my hat in the ring. And three months later, here we are.
I’ve already had a few shifts with the team (mostly just Jem and I) and have been amazed by how much gets done, considering it’s such a small operation. Reading and editing the latest bits from freelancers and fellows has been such a breath of fresh air and so insightful.
So, keep your eyes peeled on the website for plenty of new features, how-tos and common journo questions answered. Whether you’re a new journo or a seasoned one, the JR website we’ve been working on the last few weeks has many exciting things lined up. I can’t wait to hear from some of you over the next few months!
PS. If you like everything Journo Resources does and want to see more of me, plus all the amazing upcoming projects we have, please consider donating as little as £3.50 a month (that’s the price of one bougie coffee a month!). And if you do, you get free access to our events. I’m arranging some of these and have got some brilliant names offering us their time – so it’s defo worth it.
