Jobs and Opps at The Conversation, PinkNews, Metro.co.uk, Insider and Many, Many More 🧳
Plus, we launch our 2022 crowdfunder and membership scheme 🌱
I always hate having to write our annual crowdfunder email. I never know where to start and asking for money just makes me feel a bit icky. There’s something about publicly asking people to back your creation and goals that’s intensely vulnerable, and the energy you need to maintain over several weeks is intense. But, after several weeks of putting it off, I’m finally here writing this email to you.
Currently, at Journo Resources, we have just one full-time member of staff and we’re currently using our savings to make up the shortfall in our finances. But this money isn’t going to last forever. To keep doing everything we do — this newsletter, our website, online events — we need to raise another £1,000pm. This isn’t about expanding, it’s about keeping on with what we’re currently doing.
To help us get there, we’ve relaunched our membership scheme. We believe it’s one of the best value-for-money ways you can supercharge your own career, while helping to fix inequality within the industry. From just £4 a month you’ll get free access to every single one of our practical workshops, virtual co-working, a community-focused Discord server with opportunities throughout the week, and much, much more. We’ve also introduced a new 30-day free trial, so you can see if it works for you.
If you can, we’d really appreciate your support to get us through the coming months. You can see more details of our membership here — and if you’re freelance, it’s very much tax-deductible. We’d also love your support on social media to spread the word — you can share our tweet here — and do feel free to say why you’re sharing! Thank you so much for all your support over the last six years — and for bearing with me through this long email that’s made me feel very, very icky.
